The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet

By William Shakespeare

November 6 – November 15, 2015

The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is considered to be the greatest love story of all time.  Our production is accessible to students who’ve not experienced a Shakespeare play;  but also full of lyrical richness and texture for High School and Middle School audiences who may have studied the text.  We encourage you to experience this mixture of traditional and contemporary elements that reveal this timeless story of forbidden love.

Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, young (teenaged) star-crossed lovers, fall in love and marry in secret.  Their love is destroyed by the hatred and violence of their warring families.   Major Themes:  Love, Revenge, Hate, Fate, Courtship, Marriage and the meaning of gender.
